Diversity at BFOH

BFOH strives to recruit and retain attorneys, professionals and staff of diverse backgrounds. In 2007, 26% of BFOH’s partners were female, the highest percentage of any large law firm in Evansville.

BFOH has also been a strong supporter and participant in programs that focus on diversity issues. Examples are as follows:

Evansville Bar Association Diversity Committee
BFOH has been an active participant since the inception of the EBA’s Diversity Committee. BFOH attorneys and professionals have participated in the EBA’s Diversity Training Seminar and have continued to support and participate in EBA initiatives to increase diversity in the Evansville bar.

Indiana Supreme Court Diversity Summit
BFOH was a financial supporter and participant in the Indiana Supreme Court Commission on Race and Gender Fairness Diversity Summit, which addressed issues of diversity, related to legal education, recruitment, and Indiana’s court system.

Evansville Area Human Resource Association Family Friendly and Diversity Practices Program
BFOH attorneys have attended the conference presented by this program, which provides information about how to recruit and retain a diverse workforce and how to implement family friendly, and diversity programs. BFOH is also the proud recipient of an award from this program.

On Campus Educational Programs
In conjunction with other supporting organizations, BFOH attorneys have been presenters and participants in programs that seek to educate minority students about career opportunities and job seeking in the legal field.

Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity (ICLEO)
BFOH has been a continuing participant for several years in the ICLEO summer jobs program which links employers in the Indiana legal community with minority, low income, or educationally disadvantaged law students.
